I had such a wonderful birthday last week!! For so many reasons, Aaron wins the “Best Husband Award” over and over again. Just recently, he sat through a three-hour childbirth class, posed for a maternity photo shoot with me, and gave me the best birthday weekend ever with surprises galore! Really though, it’s his day-to-day service, expressions of love, and respect for me that make me love him so much. I feel so lucky that our little girl gets to have him as her dad!! I heard a quote in a recent stake conference (church regional meeting) by Elder Scott (one of the Twelve Apostles) that said that daughters whose fathers express their love and listen to them will not look for approval or validation anywhere else, (especially from the wrong sources)…at least that’s what I remember him saying :). I know that Aaron will be that kind of father.
I have been thinking a lot more about baby’s big birthday than mine. It snuck up on me so quickly and before I knew it, I turned 25. Am I the only one that forgets their age? If I can’t remember right now, I’m sure it will only get worse with age. Anyway, here are some highlights from the fun day and how special and loved others made me feel:
1. Not pictured – lunch at Panera Bread with Mel and Briana, darling new iPad case from Kris & Katie, massage coupon from Baxter, package from Mom & Dad, sweetest phone calls with Edwards and Lewis family members and many friends, Facebook posts/messages, cards from grandmas, and so much love! People are so kind!
2. Aaron walked to the store and got me the most gorgeous flowers! I love that the card he got is for a 5-year-old, but still works perfectly for me. Haha. Since it will be harder to work out once baby comes, Aaron put some $ towards the elliptical I want so I can feel healthy without having to leave the house as often. He is s thoughtful! I am incredibly spoiled.
3. Aaron took me to dinner at Sambuca, a place in Dallas that we head heard about. It was delicious! We loved the roasted artichokes with goat cheese, lobster enchiladas, and blackened pepper snapper étouffée. The best, of course, was the cake at the end! And we sure do love things that are free, so that made it even better :).
4. We rode the Uptown Trolley to Klyde Warren Park in between Uptown and Downtown Dallas. The skyline was incredible. We really love living here!
5. We stayed at the cutest hotel in Uptown called Le Meridien. It’s from the 1920’s. there was a plaque in our room that said that Judy Garland once stayed there, so it must have been pretty hip :).
6. Aaron knows that it is harder for me to move around these days, so just being able to relax and not have to clean Saturday morning was amazing. We came home around noon, went to a baptism in the the evening, and then had dinner and went bowling with some good friends. It was a great birthday!
Thank you for spoiling me so much and making me feel so loved!!
